Racebolt Flanged Nyloc Nut has an integral washer which serves to distribute the pressure of the Nut over the part being secured, reducing the chance of damage to the part and making it less likely to loosen as a result of an uneven fastening surface Titanium Flanged Nyloc Nuts are torque prevailing nuts which use a plastic/nylon insert (hence the name Nyloc) which is inserted towards the top of the nut. This reduces the inner diameter, which then deforms over the mating thread, this captures the bolt or screw, therefore providing a locking feature and causing resistance or prevailing torque, which keeps the nut resistant to vibration and locked in position. The threads of the screw or fastener do not cause damage to the plastic/nylon section, it will, however, deteriorate after persistent re-use. Another feature of a Flanged Nyloc Nut is that it can help to lock out moisture preventing corrosion and sealing the bolt thread. Titanium Flanged Nyloc Nuts are ideal in applications where vibration or motion could loosen or undo the nut. Made from Aircraft Spec Grade 5 Titanium, this range is 40% lighter than Steel equivalents with the same material strength. Precision machined in the UK with rolled threads they are ideal for race or road and widely used in multiple race series around the world.
