A2 Stainless Steel Nylon Insert Nut which acts as a locking mechanism, ideal for applications involving vibration. The nylon insert forces the bottom face of the screw against the top face of the nut threads, increasing the friction between. Secondly the Nyloc applies a compressive force against the screw itself. Nylon inserts are less damaging to threads than metal locknuts however the nylon insert will deteriorate with repetitive use. Nylon inserts also help to reduce moisture and therefore corrosion.
